About Tadao Ando
Tadao Ando was born in 1941 and is considered one of today's most influential architects. After traveling through Europe, Africa, and Asia, he founded his own studio in Osaka in 1969. He has been awarded prizes such as the Pritzker Prize, the RIBA Royal Gold Medal, the AIA Gold Medal, and the Praemium Imperiale.
Author
Masao Furuyama studied architecture in Kyoto and received his doctorate in urban planning in Tokyo. He is a professor at the Kyoto Institute of Technology and president of the institution.
Editor
Peter Gössel specializes in museum and exhibition design and has published numerous architectural monographs for TASCHEN.
