A photographic homage to our planet: breathtaking in scale and timeless in beauty.
Genesis is Sebastião Salgado’s visual declaration of love for the earth. This SUMO edition is a monumental portfolio of nature, wildlife, and indigenous peoples in their most original form, captured photographically in a powerful black and white language. The work includes photographs from over 30 countries, from the volcanic islands of the Galápagos to the glaciers of Antarctica, from the Serengeti to the Amazon.
The Genesis collector’s edition (No. 501–3,000) is limited to 2,500 copies, numbered and signed by Sebastião Salgado. It consists of two linen volumes in elegant linen binding with a leather spine, a supplementary volume, and a bookstand designed by Tadao Ando: an artistic symbiosis of architecture, photography, and design.
