The artist:

Santiago Calatrava, born in Valencia in 1951, studied architecture at ETH Zurich. Among his most well-known projects are the Milwaukee Art Museum, the Palau de les Arts Reina Sofía in Valencia, the Olympic Sports Complex in Athens, and the World Trade Center Transportation Hub in New York.

The author:

Philip Jodidio studied art history at Harvard and was editor-in-chief of Connaissance des Arts. For TASCHEN, he wrote numerous architectural monographs on architects such as Tadao Ando, Norman Foster, Renzo Piano, and Zaha Hadid.
